I have been working for a sign company who send files that run very erratic
because of the hundreds of unnecessary nodes
can fit curves to selected vectors clean this up without changing the shapes of these files?
i believe this should be the job of the sign company.
enclosed is one of these files
would like anyone opinion on this
thanks paul

Re: clean up vector help
As a sign shop owner, I`d be ashamed to send something like that out.
Do they expect you to clean it up?
They should do the clean up.
Garbage in garbage out is what I always say.
You can try simplifie path, I find it better to do it by hand,
very time consuming.

Re: clean up vector help
Depending on the tolerance, the fit curves to vectors should work. You just need to play around to see what works best. The sample I did at 60° with a tolerance of 0.01-inch looks very close with very little distortion and only took a few seconds.

Hi Mark what sign program did u use for this. not that I want to spend more money on software
But could recommend this to them

Re: clean up vector help
Hi Gary the tolerance of 0.01 and Max angle of 60 degrees
What was the fitting type? Circular arcs or bezier curves
