Machine Model # 145M12D
Controller Name/Model/Software: FANUC 0i Handheld Machine Controller System
Thanks in advance,
Bill

Re: Post Processor
Welcome to the forum Bill. As a new user you should check out the tutorials that are available from Vectric they are a wealth of information.
It really helps if you have two monitors on your PC so you can run the tutorials on one and actually work along on the program on the other.
Get on the Vectric web site Vectric.com and sign up for the portal if you haven’t already. The portal allows you to download a lot of information you will need.
I copied a page from the Vectric web support site about finding your post processor.
I have actually removed all the available post processors from my drop down list so I can’t see if your machine is on the list.
I do have a backup of the post processors. Contacting the machine supplier would be the best way to determine what you need as they update
the processors so you want to make sure you have the most current.
Good luck with the CNC it will be an adventure if you haven’t worked on them before and ask questions here.

Re: Post Processor
Thanks Mark for your advice.
I have looked and don't find my machine in the post processors. The have a number of the CR Onsrud machines but not the M series with a Fanuc OI controller Model F. Ours has a drilling block but I do not need a post for that just the machine and the (12) tool changers if possible.
I will sign up for the portal. I'm sure this is an easy fix just have to dive into more when time becomes available.
Thanks again,
Bill

Re: Post Processor
Bill,
Post a short example of a code that works with your machine. Code generated by another CAM or sample code from the manufacturer.

Here is another sample from Cr Onsrud.
We are not interested in using the drilling block with V-Carve Pro.

Re: Post Processor
There are Fanuc postprocessors on the list. Have you tried them? You might have to edit them to add Onsrud specific header code.
Good thing you don't want to use the drilling block since it's not supported.

Re: Post Processor
I have tried the Fanuc controller posts. To no avail. CR Onsrud said the would be glad to work with Vectric on providing a post for the M-Series machine with the Fanuc Oi handheld controller. I sent this information to the Vectric Help desk so I don't know if anything will come of this. I have also contacted the sales rep for our CNC machine to see if he can help modify on of the headers and footers for the post. I'm still in limbo at this point.
Just a lot of leg work but I'm sure it can be worked out soon. I am personally not familiar with "G" code at all.
I should have tested the Posts on the trial version before we purchased the program but I did not. I've heard so many good things about Vectric and V Carve Pro. Does anyone have a recommendation who might offer a service to write the header and footer?

Re: Post Processor
Most of the code in those examples is for drilling, but the actual routing appears to be basic g-code.

Re: Post Processor
Can I have CR Onsrud send me a G Code sample without any of the drilling to you?
We have tried all the Cr Onsrud Posts and all the Fanuc controller posts with Vectric.
We are not interested in the drilling head being able to be used with Vectric.

Re: Post Processor
Any idea what G5.1 Q1 does?
Does this control not support arcs? There are no G02 or G03 moves in any of the sample code.

Try this and see if it works? I'm guessing the file extensions is .anc?
