Distorting a number of objects or bitmap.
If I have a photo of a flat screen that was not taken square to the screen, is there any way to distort the bitmap (or a trace) so it is square? The distortion tool will work on only one vector. I have a group of vectors in a quadrilateral , and I want to distort so it is back to a rectangle and the vectors inside follow the distortion. If not in VCarve, what program? Free, of course, is preferred.

Hi. Do you have the free photo editor program GIMP? It has tools that could do the correction for you. The Perspective correction is probably the one you would use for the Bitmap. I don’t think it’s going to help you with vectors, though!

Thank you. Gimp did it for me, although I certainly have not mastered it.

If you have multiple vectors that you want distorted proportionally, Select them all and group them. The distortion tool will then work on the group as a whole.
Once you bake the distortion the vectors are automatically ungrouped.
This is handy for distorting vectors to fit the book pages amongst other things.
This works in Aspire so I believe it will work in V-Carve as well.

Re: Distorting a number of objects or bitmap.
Evan: I'm afraid that when I try to distort a group, VCarve Pro gives me the message that it is unable to node edit grouped objects. It will, however, distort a selection of vectors. What I was trying to do was distort an imported bitmap. Couldn't do it, although the set size and rotation tools worked fine on vectors drawn on the bitmap layer.
But Gimp worked OK on the bitmap. Even though it seemed a bit clunky because of my lack of experience with it.
