Need help with tool paths

Post by lostcreekwoodworking »

I am trying to get these vectors correct and having a heck of a time. I tried uploading the picture and tracing the lines but can’t get it right. The S is supposed to be a through cut while the rest is 1/4” deep engraving. Can someone give me a hand? I tried to recreate it from scratch and after 90 minutes of work I was told my S was wrong and they need a spot on match since it’s for a business.

What is the overall size?

The S needs to consist of 2 closed vectors, independent of the vectors for the 1/4" deep parts. It can be pocketed, or profiled inside the vector, as you prefer.

1/4" deep areas also need to consist of closed vectors, and of course there needs to be space for the diameter of your cutter if you are going to pocket them. Or you can VCarve them with a 1/4" flat depth. I'm assuming the red areas will be the same depth as the orange ones.

This advice probably can be improved upon if you post the .crv file.
