What type of PDF is it? Does it have lots of bitmap information in it? Lots of vectors? Multiple pages?

Are they vector or bitmap based ? Have you tried importing them using the import vector or import bitmap options ??
I don't tend to use a lot of PDF files with vectric software myself so not something I will really have seen, I tend to use EPS as a file format as it always seems to work well for me & the other software I use has the option to export as EPS

I assumed he meant that the same PDF opened in another application opened immediately but re-reading it does sound like it's different storage areas. More information and ideally the file is definitely required.

That's also what I read the first time, and I'm still wondering what the actual issue is. More info definitively required.

Opening or importing your file into Aspire 8.5 under Windows 7 is immediate.

What are your versions of Vcarve and Windows?

Did you notice other slow downs in Vcarve? In other software?

How many free space do you have on your hard disk?
Best regards

Opens immediately for me without any issues in VCarve and Aspire version 8.5 and 9.

Try importing rather opening. In theory it shouldn't make any difference but I'd be interested to see if it does.

Is your desktop folder with these pdf files synchronized with a distant server (cloud, NAS or something like that)?

No relationship with your issue, but why do you perform this step? Do you export the dxf to another application?
