Moving a part to 0,0 .....

Post by toolznthings »

Hello,
Novice here trying to solve a problem.
I've imported a DWG file of a simple spur gear to make a toy. When setting up material I need the gear center to be my 0,0 point.
I see that there is a small mismatch of the center lines of the gear to the Vcarve zero setting. Cut the gear on the Shapeoko and that all
work good, but the profile is not centered to the gear axle.
How do you move a part to force it on 0,0 ? I have know way of knowing the actual amount of mis-match to use the " x-y " offset.

Thanks in advance !!
Brian

You use the Move tool in VCarve to move an item to an exact position. If the position is not matching between VCarve and your machine then check the machine side of things as it should be.

If you're opening the DWG file directly rather than importing then check that there isn't an XY offset being applied in the Job setup in Vcarve.
