"Success Kid" in 3d - Want to buy
Hi,
I am a wood worker (hobby) and have a co worker who's birthday is coming up. He is always using this "success kid" jpg (see attached) in his emails when he figures things out:-)
I would like to make him a birthday box of Walnut and use my cnc machine to put the image of the "Success Kid" on top of it. Does anyone have this and would you sell it to me please?

Vcarving an image is not an easy task, some have done it and hopefully will chime in with some tips.
Too bad the kids head is cropped flat, I personally would not do it just for that reason.

I guess you want 3D, but this only took about five mins., and it could be better with a little more time.

Check out my post in PhotoVCarve gallery "Most detailed yet with this process" It might be something that will work for you. One caveat is that the process works best with light colored wood so you might consider using an inlay to make it work with walnut.

Don't know if it's too late, but would this help?

There is a website that uses AI to create a 3D model of a face. Crop to his head only, then run it through that and get the. OBJ file and go from there. I tried to upload one, but my phone choked on the upload.

This is very interesting! It actually did a pretty decent job on a head shot I uploaded! I had no idea this existed. Thanks for the link.Mikehell wrote:There is a website that uses AI to create a 3D model of a face. Crop to his head only, then run it through that and get the. OBJ file and go from there. Re: "Success Kid" in 3d - Want to buy
I am attaching a couple screenshots of the 3d photo headshot conversion from http://cvl-demos.cs.nott.ac.uk/vrn/
I did do some very minor smoothing/sculpting of the original OBJ file after importing into Aspire. I also attached the original photo I uploaded (an old photo of one of my sons).
Amazing that the online software pretty much ignored my son's hand. The hair and the eye detail was ignored too (so it appears he has his eyes closed). Nevertheless, I am completely impressed that it is possible to derive any "somewhat decent" 3D qualities from a single 2D photo of a head.
