Fatal Error

Post by mlk1950 »

I just got another computer, because my old one killed the motherboard. The old one had Windows 7 home and this one has upgraded Windows 10. I loaded my V Carve Pro 6 and patched it to 6.5. Worked fine as 6, but as soon as I patched it, it comes up with this . It won't create a dump file either, so I don't know what to show you but this. Only happens after the patch. I would run only 6 except a lot of the work I have done is with 6.5.

You're going to have to contact support directly over that I would think. Even if there was a dump file only they can read it.

6.5 is quite an old version (7 years old) so I suspect it's an issue with C++ support libraries or similar.

As Adrian says probably a question for Vectric support but have you tried running it as an administrator or in comparability mode ?

Support solved the problem for me. I didn't know they had a full 6.5 version. They told me to go to the portal and use that, and bingo. Thank you Vectric support!

Just something to remember for the future is that the download in your portal account will always be the most upto date available for your version of the software.

Thank you for the replies. I haven't been on here for awhile, so I guess that says a lot about the software and the development of this fine product. Can't beat the help and support you get here.

+1 to that, when I was looking for cam software I looked at a few different packages, there were others on the market which I am sure would have suited my needs but I couldn't find anything that matched the help & support that Vectric offered, the tutorials & the support from other users on this forum was what really sold it for me
