engraving 1911 grips

How do I engrave the 1911 grips in vcarve pro? I have tried everything. Nothing looks good in the preview. Thanks.

I used a V-Carve toolpath with 60° 1/4" v-bit, Flat depth .02. Make sure to check the box "Project toolpath onto 3D Model"

I tried that but the preview did not look good. I have not tried cutting it.

If the preview doesn't look good then it's not going to cut any better.

Here are the setting I used for carving the skulls.

Preview Simulation Quality - Maximum (25x Slower)

Tools Used

.125 dia End Mill
.125 dia Ball Nose
.5 dia x.625 height of cutter 60 degree V-Bit (Same settings as highpockets posted above for skulls carvings)

Sharkcutup is right you can change the preview simulation quality.

Just for grins I tried the same toolpath setting but at standard preview simulation quality.

I think I was using the wrong bit. When I tried the engraving bit, it looked bad. When I use the 60 degree bit, it looks great. I was not setting the flat depth either. Thanks. Will try to cut it out tonight.
