Boat Oar

Post by cusoak »

I want to cut out some boat oar's to use for signs at out lake house.
And ideas on where I could get a file that would work in Vcarve Pro.
Would like it to shape down the paddle part. Maybe it would need to be a 2sided job
Cut out the handle and then I could round it on my router table

Try this.
Done with two-rail sweep.

I found the type of oar I was looking for and can import it in to v carve pro.
But Now I need to learn how to size it and set up tool paths to cut it.
So where would I find a tutorial on how to do this.

I'm assuming VCP has the same screen options as in Aspire below.
The paddle imports as a VERY large model. Try adjusting the Z first to match your material.
You can also use the "handles" in the greyscale to adjust size and rotation.

This is a pretty basic carve, so if you're unsure, you probably need to start at the beginning of the tutorials and work through one by one.
