When I import my .tap file it is WAY bigger than I designed

Post by Mo Duhon »

So when I try to upload my tap file into WinCNC I get a file that is way bigger than I designed it. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Never had this problem before. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

Your file may have been switched to mm vs. inches or visa versa.

I checked that. One of the pictures has the job setup panel opened and everything still reads inches. As does WinCNC, but thanks for the reply. I'm sure I screwed something up along the way, my last three designs all come up the same way....

Fine, both VCarve and WinCNC say inches. But there is an intermediary and that is the post-processor (PP). Was that a metric PP?

I'm not sure how to check that...

Just check which PP is selected.
Or you can open the file in notepad and read through it

When you save the toolpaths from the VCarve toolpath tab you select a Post Processor from the drop down list. Does it have mm or inch in the name?

To my knowledge we got this corrected yesterday. As Adrian suggested, he had somehow switched to the (mm) post processor.
