Any way to move toolpath from top to bottom on 2-sided part?

Post by llwood »

I'm using VCP 9.012 and I am converting an existing part to a 2-sided part. The existing part has a bunch of existing toolpaths. I see that it's easy to select vectors and move them to the other side. However, is there a way to take a toolpath that currently on the top and move it to the bottom (or vice versa)? Or do I have to delete it from one side and re-create it from scratch on the other side?

Please let me know any easy way to do this.

Thanks,
Andy

I don't do two sided jobs so I don't know if there as an easier way but if you save the toolpath as a template from one side, switch to the other side and load it that will do it.

I believe Adrian is onto something there. I had forgotten about the capability of saving tool paths as templates until he mentioned it.

And to think I had used it a couple of times in the past. So many different things within V-Carve it is hard to remember it all!!!

Thank You Adrian for the reminder!!!

The model in the top and bottom views will be in different directions, so as long as you recalibrate the toolpaths, I don't know why Adrian suggestion wouldn't work. I think I'll try it on my next two-sided project.
