+1

2D toolpaths will also give you a higher quality.

I have no idea how to attach the CRV file to the forums here.
If the file is under 2MB it can be uploaded using the "Upload Attachment" button.
If it is slightly over 2MB you might be able to ZIP it and up load it.
If it is larger than that you can post it on Google Drive or Drop Box and post the link to the file here.

Micheal, yea a lot to learn.

There are many ways to skin a cat as they say.

Personally, like GER21 - I would not do that as a single 3D piece.
I would do it as a 2D object.

Gentlemen, I think the next thing to understand then is probably how to work with the STL files (I would guess) to trace around the outlines of the model, and create my toolpaths from there. You gentlemen are a pleasure to learn from (I've been keeping tabs from your earlier years posts to others (Very helpful)).

So could someone kindly share if I am on the right track with the above idea?

Thanks once again for everyone's assistance.

Looks like I'm making progress on understanding both 2D cuts & how there are more than one way to skin the cat! Proof is in the pudding...

This time I just took a jpg image and worked the Trace Bitmap and cut the image into various layers (HD, MC, Inside Boarders, Outside Cut...).
First Prototype
First Prototype
Playing around with some Pocket Depths.
Second Prototype
Second Prototype
Of course I'm far from a finished product, as certain things just never cut the way I thought they would. Better understanding is required. Understood.

Oh, total cut time is now 50:16 for the bottom image. Thanks guys for making me think on this one. More thinking required...

Thank you much! I have been playing around with a few different tools, and have the latest copy down to 47:56.

Once again I have to share a huge thanks to all who encouraged me to look further into this issue.

It looks like my next focus (that is after I score my CNC), is to purchase a Surfacing Bit (Amana Tools?), just to ensure all is flat before the cut. This should turn out to be the most important tool in the arsenal.
