some defaults...

Post by hack613 »

On the CAM side of the screen, I can open the Material Setup to change the safe height. But this setting never sticks. I have to set it every single time. Can I change the default for that?

What about the extension of the output file? It's always .txt. Can I change it to be something else?

The safe height will default to the value last used. If you open an existing file it will use that value in that rather than the default. The Z1,Z2 and home position all interact with each other and will change to sensible values if you try to do something like set the Z1 below Z2 or home to lower than either.

The extension is generated by the post processor you're using. You would need to edit the post processor to change that. There is a guide on the Help menu.

Thanks for the note.

For some reason I'm needing to go in and change the safe height every time. So there's something I'm missing....

Can you save a blank file from VCarve with the settings it comes up with by default and attach it here?
