pocket toolpath advice

Post by cbassss »

Hi,I am a relatively new vcarve user and need some advice. I am trying to inlay a guitar pick into a project I am working on, and am struggling to get the shape of the toolpath to exactly match the pick for a seamless fit. any suggestions how I might do this? freehand and standard shape alteration are just not close enough.

Thanks

Put the pick on a scanner bed and import the bitmap into VCP, measure the pick and create a box of the same measurements, adjust the bitmap to fit in the box.
From here you can use trace bitmap or do a rough outline using the drawing tools the use node edit to refine the shape.
