Question on text on text adding document variables

I have been able to do a few text on text signs with great results following the tutorial videos. Seeing this is something I would like to do more of, I followed the tutorial on making templates for a much quicker process. For some reason when your instructed to open document variables and place in amounts it will not save and come into the Cut Depth window when {TD} is used as in the tutorial. I have tried to search the forum without success. I am using 9.0. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

When setting up the document variable be sure to press the Create button before pressing OK otherwise the variable is not saved.

Thank you for the reply. I'm embarrassed to say what the problem was. I saved the document variables in lower case and used upper case in the tool path window. Sometimes its best to walk away and come back at a problem with fresh eyes.
