Bit Can't Fit

Post by gkas »

I imported the truck body from a pdf. Sizes come in accurate. My problem appears when I try to cut the profile for the body.

No problem with most of the toolpaths, until I set up the profile to cut out the body. Cut with a 0.25 EM to Outside. I get the message "ERROR No toolpath generated for current parameters. Check tool can fit into selected vectors at machining depth." I change to a 0.125 bit... same problem. Both the 0.25 and the 0.125 will cut if I set the Machine Vectors to ON. It's gotta be something stupid....

It's not a closed vector, look at the nose of the truck where the hood comes to a point.
Use "Join/Close vectors with a straight line"

Thanks much... That did it. Since it came from a pdf, I should have looked for open vectors. I gotta add that to my "list of things to check when weird mistakes pop up".

Add the Vector Validator to that list, it wouldn't have help in this case, but with imported vectors it really helps.
