Laser module with Piranha issue
I tried my first project with the laser module. I know I need to change my step over to a lower number so it doesn't look as detached throughout but anyone have any idea why it burned in the positioning movements as well? I have attached a picture.

Re: Laser module with Piranha issue
Isn't the laser supposed to turn off when it's moving? I'd check that the post processor is correct and up to date.

Re: Laser module with Piranha issue
You must have downloaded a laser based post processor for your setup as none come with VCarve. Make sure it's the correct one for your setup.

J Tech Photonics has a Post processor for V-Carve. See their web site for additional info. Good site for CNC Laser info.

Adrian, This was previously installed, I didn't install anything except the initial Vcarve program. It came with an ungodly amount of post processors.

Re: Laser module with Piranha issue
I tried it again and moved the step over closer, also increased the depth/pressure and those changes made it look better, however, it is still adding the extra movements in I believe.

I would contact the company where you purchased the laser module from for direct Tech Support.
I'm sure they will be able to help get you going.

Re: Laser module with Piranha issue
Hi, also if you haven't yet I'd go to the Next Wave website, they have an easy to use PDF for the laser module. I was having issues when I first started using mine but after a few times I started to get the hang of it... at least the basics anyway.
