Hello - I need some help with figuring out how to toolpath this design. I want to do a lattice pattern. I thought I should use profile, and cut out both sides, but its not calculating correctly. The other issue with this design is that it is saying I have 20 open vectors. Any help is appreciated. The wood is .875".
thanks.....Cathy

If you are using V9 then the vector validator should show you if there are any issues with the vectors

Re: help with tool pathing a lattice design
You're going to have edit the lattice design so the outer vectors connect to the main shape as one vector and then a series of diamonds in the centre of those.
At the moment you've got multiple overlapping vectors and vectors (open) on their own not connected to anything.
When creating something like this it's import to visualise the path the cutter will take and what decisions the software will need to make. What seems obvious to the human eye isn't to a program as it has no idea what the intention is from a series of straight lines.

Hello again - here is a much better file, I cleaned up the vectors and almost have it. Wondering if someone could take a look and give me your expert opinion on how you would carve out the lattice.
thanks....Cathy

Re: help with tool pathing a lattice design
I've cut the sections where they meet the main shape and fixed the many open/overlapping vectors.
The toolpaths are for demonstration only. Adjust them for your machine.
