I'm new to 4th axis stuff. I started by wrapping a grove around a cylinder by using two joined vectors and the pocket toolpath with a 1/4" endmill. Worked OK once I got all the settings correct. I tried adjusting the groove width by setting an offset. Again OK, so I tried to do a roundover using a 1/4" radius form tool on the same two vectors. VCarve will not create toolpath, giving:
"No toolpath generated for current parameters.
Check tool can fit into selected vectors at machining depth"
I understand the words, but how does one fix the problem.
On flat work I can cut a pocket and then roundover the edge without this error.

Re: Problem with wrapping cylinder
Try doing a profile ON the vector when you toolpath the roundover bit.
