D2 Dragknife Mysteries

Post by Stu »

I am still in the process of figuring out V Carve and all the processes. It seems I have everything figured out but I am still experiencing issues using the drag knife. I cant seem to achieve nicely rounded corners. It seems to start leading in too quickly therefore leaving a not so radiused radius. I am using the dragknife gadget but sometimes seem to have issues with the knife selecting its own starting point and the knife is pointing the wrong way. What are the secrets to this?

For every material you are cutting with the drag knife you will have to tweak the Blade Offset to achieve clean corners. The offset is mainly to control sharp corner swivels.
The start of the cutter must be set to positive X direction. After cutting a profile the program will swivel the knife to orient positive X for the next cut. If this is not happening then you will have to adjust the offset setting and/or the swivel depth. Each time you will have to delete the toolpath and create a new one.
