Will VCarve desktop accept dxf images?

Yes it will. It will also load many other popular formats besides DXF.

Have a look at the features, it lists the 2d file imports that it will accept :lol: :lol:

PDF, SVG, AI, EPS, DWG, SKP as 2d vectors.

STL, 3DM (Rhino), SKP (Sketchup), RLF (ArtCam v9) , 3DS ASC PRJ (3DStudio), .X (directx), DXF, LWO (Lighwave), WRL (VRML),OBJ (Wavefront) as 3D models.

Thank you for your reply. I used your link to the features. There are quite a few that it will accept. I only recognized about four out of the bunch though. I guess I could start reading a little more about the machine. I’m still learning a lot. I’ve only had it a little over a year and this machine still amazes me. I have cut a bunch of signs. I bought the laser engraver and I’m getting better at that. I’ve only cut one 3-D program. I’m trying to figure out how to turn a vector into a 3-D program though. I am limited to the 3-D files that came with the software. And purchasing them from other places.

You can't really go from vectors to 3D with VCarve, you need Aspire for that although you can do a lot with moulding and fluting toolpaths. All depends on what sort of 3D shapes you're after.

I just now started doing a few 3D carvings. Some of the files that came with the software. I like it. I just want to learn how to find a image on the internet and turn it into a 3D carving. Like I do with the signs that I have made for people.
