Using VCarve Pro. I downloaded a .dxf file from the Internet. I tried to add dogbone fillets to a square shape. It wouldn't do anything. I tried using just the fillet tool. It worked on one corner but not the others. I deleted the fillet on that corner and tried dogbone again, and this time it worked, but still wouldn't work on the other corners.
I clicked on the node editing tool to see the nodes. There are so many nodes that it makes a thick black line, there are so many. What gives?
Why so many nodes when only four are needed for a square?
Is the amount of nodes messing up the fillet tool?
How do I get rid of hundreds of nodes?
Multitude of nodes - why?

Re: Multitude of nodes - why?
Use the curve fit tool with the straight line option.
Why all the nodes? That would depend on what software created the .dxf, and what method was used to draw the object. Illustration programs like Illustrator or CorelDraw are usually the worst offenders.
And yes, the nodes are probably causing the fillet issues.

Re: Multitude of nodes - why?
Thanks, ger21. That tool knocked out the extra points leaving only one at each corner.
But, the dogbone option still does nothing.
WAIT!!!
i just discovered that the radius of 0.01 was way too small to see unless I was zoomed WAY in. The vectors are so huge that I couldn't see the effect of the radius too.
I think I'm good now. Thanks for your help!
