November 2017 Project of the Month

Post by CSMG »

Good morning all,
Perhaps I am way behind but I saw a snowman bowl that was supposedly listed on the November 2017 project of the month. Since updating to Vcarve 9, I am not seeinf the news or projects. My project of the month shows up to October 2017. Am I missing something?

Thank you for your time.

You're not missing anything. It's not been posted in the "normal" spots yet (Downloads and Cool Stuff). And neither has the November 2017 newsletter.

I sent an alert email to Vectric a few days ago. I'm sure they will get everything posted this week.

In the meantime, the project link does appear in the emailed version of the Newsletter. So if you are subscribed to that, then you should have been emailed a copy. The link to the project is "strange" (super long), but it seems to work ok.

Michael, thanks for the update. I do not receive the projects any more. I have requested them to check it. I have even upgraded my software to V9 and have a login account etc. But the projects do not make it my way. I will reach out again to find out why.

Thanks again.

Check your email spam/junk folder. Sometimes the newsletters end up there.

Michael..

Planning to do the November Project of the Month, the Holiday Snowman.
In the description you mentioned that if you have a smaller machine (and I do,
a NWA Piranha XL which only has XYZ travel: 12'' x 24'' x 4'') to split the 26"
board into two 13" pieces.

I found a simpler method, which (hopefully) will work. Basically, I resized the
entire design to fit on a 11"x 24" board. Granted, the tray will be a bit smaller than
the original, but it should be fine.

Since you are the creator of this project, do you see any problems in what I did?

Thanks for all your efforts in creating these monthly projects!

Thank you! That sounds like a nice solution. The smaller Snowman will be "cuter", too!

I'm so happy to hear you are enjoying the projects, and thank you for the kind words.

Merry Christmas!
