Hello All,
We have created form tools in the past without issue.
However, we are running into the error message saying that "no suitable vectors are selected" .
I have attached a link to a Youtube video so you can see the exact steps we are following.
Please advise, and thanks in advance...
Mark

Mark,
It appears that the program is seeing the arc and assuming that it should be a ball end or radius end.
If you slightly distort your arc with a node somewhere,,I added a node in the center of the arc and moved it slightly, the program accepted the shape.
I hope this helps.

Hello Michael, and thanks for the advise.
Unfortunately, this method also did not work.
We selected the vector, added a node, moved the node slightly, exited node edit mode.
We made sure the vector was selected, and retried to create a form tool.
It generated the same error.

Re: Form Tool Issues - See Screenshot Video
We found a workaround, but it appears to be a bug that we ran into.
So, drawing an arc and trying to create a form tool WILL NOT WORK (at least it will not work on our computers).
What we had to do, was to create a circle using the "circle" tool. Next, we added straight lines and trimmed everything off that was not needed.
Only after we tried this alternate method, were we able to actually create a form tool.
I hope this helps others who run into this problem.

Re: Form Tool Issues - See Screenshot Video
Hi,
This would be easier to diagnose if you attached the .CRV file showing the error, but I suspect that the arc you have created freehand is actually going slightly negative in Y from the start point which isn't supported for form tools.
If you convert the arc to a bezier (in node edit mode, select the span and make into a bezier) you should be able to see if the control handle from the start point is going slightly down in Y.
If this isn't the case, if you could attach the .CRV file we can take a closer look.

Hello Brian,
Thanks for the input.
I have attached the *.crv test file for review.

Thank you for attaching the file. As I suggested below, the arc you have drawn goes negative from the start point. In the attached screen shot I have converted your first arc to a bezier (as it is easy to see the way the arc is going then from the direction of the control handle). On the zoomed in screen shot I have added a horizontal guide through the start point which shows the vector is going down very slightly from the start point.

Here are the Vectors that I used to create the tool.

Thanks for the tips and vital information, Brian and Michael.
We will review the vectors and create a proper workflow for designing form tools using the information you provided.
