CNC Shark Laser

Post by GWDawg1 »

I'm trying to use the laser that came with my Shark HD4, and I'm not having much success. I've set up everything according to the New Wave documentation, when I get down to the final process after selecting the CNC Shark HD4 laser post processor, the output to machine checkbox is grayed out. Any suggestions?

I usually just save the toolpath to a flash drive and run it from the pendant. Is your cnc connected to your computer? If not try connecting the USB and see if it is still grayed out.

I don't see how the direct output can work with that post processor to be honest. The DIRECT_OUTPUT line which controls the interface to the Shark control panel is set to "" where I would expect some parameters in there according to the post processor documentation.
DIRECT_OUTPUT = "Display Name | Manufacturers.Document" The control software uses a document interface that can directly accept the NC file output.
As far as I can see from the New Wave documentation it should be:
DIRECT_OUTPUT = "CNCShark|CNCShark_run.ini"

According to Vectric, this option is not available for the Shark. It has not been developed and been made available by Next Wave.

Sounds like New Wave to change their documentation in that case...
