Material recommendations

Post by GJHall »

New at trying to do this project, having a blast learning V carving, now I am wanting to try cutting some thin material for a project for my grandson. See picture below. This file was purchased awhile ago when I was cutting with a plasma cutter.

The file says to use1/16", 1/8", 1/4" or up to 1/2" wood. I would like to cut this in 1/8" material.

Looked at plywood, there was voids all over on the end so I think that would be a bad choice. They had some kind of hard board that looked like mdf. Not sure how that would work.

What would you recommend for material?

Thanks,

Gary

Get some aircraft plywood from a hobby shop. It won't have any voids.

Baltic Birch plywood. Is that the same as aircraft ply?
