My V-Carve has gone crazy

Post by Westridge999 »

When I load a file to route out or even engrave text, after the program starts to run it stops and pushes the Z axis down about 5mm then very slowly starts backing out and runs at the right depth for a while and then lifts up and plunges again about 5mm. Takes for ever to back out but does so and then engraves/cuts for a while, then does the same thing again.

I am trying to cut metal.

l have V-Carve Desktop

I have never experience any problem like this before

I am only trying to originally cut down about .2mm because it is stainless steel.

Even when I try engraving on it only .03mm it still drills down about 5mm then takes for ever to back out, but after it does, it starts to engrave ok at about .02mm which is what I set the software for. But after a very short time, there is code that drives it back down. I wasted about 3 mills before I realized the code is SCREWED UP. I never indicate to do any thing below .2mm yet it continues
to do this.

PLEASE HELP.. I HAVE MONEY PAID PROJECTS I HAVE TO GET DONE IMMEDIATELY OR I HAVE TO REFUND MONEY.

I have had the software for about a year now and up until now, it's worked perfect.

WHATS GOING ON?

PLEASE PLEASE HELP VECTRIC.

Maybe you can post the file for us to look at ,,is it's not a copyrighted design.
Or if you send it to me I'd be glad to look at it later today.
No promises that I can solve the problem.

As it's a fairly major issue you could try contacting Vectric directly at support@vectric.com or even phoning.

This is primarily a user to user forum and I'm sure it can be sorted by one of us but maybe not in the time scale you need. As Michael says the file is required to be able to give any real advice.

The important thing with a problem like this is to think what has changed between the last successful run and now.

Take a look at the code and make sure whether it's actually asking for these depths. I'd be more suspicious of my control software or losing steps on the machine, but a quick check of the code should tell you whether it's a vcarve or machine problem.

Here are the 2 files that I have tried. I shut down the computer, I shut down Mach3, I shut down Vectric....NOTHING CHANGED

I have not changed any setting since last using it.

Not trying to sound crazy... but this is driving me crazy

I don't fully understand G-Code, but I can see where the code is telling to go down deep.
Problem is, nothing in the software is telling it to do that...the code is generating on it's own

HELP.. PLEASE

Someone stated calling Vectic... please provide phone number I can't find one.

OVERLY FRUSTRATED !

Thanks in advance for anyone's help... GREATLY APPRECIATED... my customer will be also.

Mark, you didn't post the files.....

If the G-Code is showing some 5mm plunges then you need to back up a bit and start looking at the Post Processor, make sure that didn't get changed.

Posting the file would be helpful.

Mark please post the Vectric V-Carve file.

It sounds like a setting in V-Carve, but nobody is going to be able to help you if we cannot see the V-Carve file.

Please don't post the G-Code - that will not help.

Well I can tell you it's not the G-Code...
The file looks correct ..
I'm guessing a machine problem..
