VCarve Pro For Turning

Postby pjblues » Tue Nov 07, 2017 8:23 pm

I have been using VCarve Pro on my CNC router. Now I just purchased a small CNC Metal Lathe to turn small wood items with. It has a Siemens control on it. Does anyone know if VCarve can be used to for designing items that can be turned? This may be a silly question but somehow I cannot figure it out.

I am sure that it would never make a full fledged lathe machining package like most in the trade are used to using, but you surely should be able to use VCP to generate toolpaths to do most anything that you wanted to. My metal lathe is not CNC, but I have done numerous lathe and rotary projects using only VCPro as the toolpathing engine.

There are more on my YouTube page, but here is one: https://youtu.be/4j_GFr0spSE
