Not sure if we've got a setting wrong some where but if we create a job and then create a toolpath, for an example a quick engraving toolpath, set everything to how it should be but when we send the job over to the machine, we set the xy axis manual and also the z manual too but when we run the job to the machine, the spindle goes to the xy axis and starts engraving there but it's not exactly engraving, it's just doing it above the material.
The machine we've got is a CNC6040 Router and we also use a MPC6620 Router Hand Controller.

Re: Wrong Setting Or Not
Have you got the z-zero setting in the job setup matching what you have in reality? Is it on top of the material or on top of the machine bed? How deep is the actual job cutting? Hover the mouse on the toolpath and it will tell you the maximum cut depth. Sometimes what looks quite deep in the preview is actually only the thickness of a piece of paper and will only scratch the surface.
Re: Wrong Setting Or Not
The z-zero is on top of the material and whereabouts is the z-zero setting on job setup? (sorry we're new to this)
we're only engraving 0.5mm into material at moment as we're practicing but once we get the hang of the software/machine we will be engraving in to the material deeper.

When you first create the job you have to choose where the z-zero is. You can check/change it by the material setup at the top of the toolpath tab or via the job setup icon/menu item.

Re: Wrong Setting Or Not
If you post the file maybe we can check the settings and see what is going on.
