Where Is My Text Going
Im stuck here and need some help
Im making a simple text on a sign with a border.
I draw a rec. border
select text inside a vector, and type and position the text in the border.
When i go into tool paths set the tool depth for 0.125 material thickness .75
hit the 3d tab and the bordr shows up but now text.
Funny it all worked for me with my first few test signs but now i have no text
Help please
I was thinking it was the home start Z gap being .21 by defalut, but i would change that to 0 and my text still wont show in 3d preview
Im selecting text and border before going into tool paths
Thanks for and help

Re: Where Is My Text Going
I'm not sure what you are referring to. What is the label on the tab? "2D View", "3D View", "Toolpath"?hit the 3d tab and the bordr shows up but now text.
Can you upload your file so we can see it?
Or can you modify the file I've attached to do what you want?

Re: Where Is My Text Going
Are you trying to vcarve the border and text?
It sounds like you're selecting the border, but not selecting the text in V-Carve toolpath.
Posting your crv file would help....
Randall types faster that I do

Re: Where Is My Text Going
You haven't created a V-Carve toolpath for your text.

Re: Where Is My Text Going
Hey guys thanks for the help.
I'm still not getting the text to work right
I'm not sure what's going on.
I was able to make text before and carve it out but now it's like a setting is off ?
I tried my laptop and I get the same thing
I watched the videos last night and it looks like I'm doing it right.
Please show me where the directions are to add text inside a box.
I need it step by step because I think I'm forgetting a step (old age)
Thanks
Danny

Re: Where Is My Text Going
OK, that's easy.
You have the profile for the border.
Now select the text, from the Toolpath Tab select V-Carve / Engraving Toolpath (first icon, second row), setup the parameters and Calculate.
If you have VCP 9.x I can upload the crv.

Re: Where Is My Text Going
Danny, I noticed in your file that you only had one V-Carve tool path; for the outer perimeter. You need two tool paths. Just go back and select the inner text and V-Carve that and it should be fine....joe

Re: Where Is My Text Going
I tried it by selecting everything and doing an engraving toolpath and this is what I came up with. It is the v carve 1 toolpath.
