When zeroing needle point bits what is the best method you use ?
Puck is a no no... paper method is not that great.
Thanks

I zero my engraving bits etc on an aluminium plate all the time. Never had an issue with it causing any damage to the tips. It's all about the approach speed and how quickly your control software reacts to the touch.

Re: Setting z 0
Ron...
I use my tool touch off plate for all my bits. As said slow down your z zero speed
so you are not touching at a high rate of speed. I also manually go down to within
a 1/4 inch and then go to automatic the rest of the way down to a brass puck.
Have not damaged a bit yet.

Thank you both.
I have very good control of my z speed so will give it a go.

I use UCCNC not a pendant as they are not available here with the Axiom.
