2D and 3D file merging
We have a Laguna Smartshop 2 that we just purchased and have VCarve 9.007 and are trying to figure out how to machine one of our concepts. We have a 3D model (.stl file) and a Top and Bottom vector file (.dxf). I haven't found anywhere in the literature where it tells how to merge these all together. In this part we have a bottom side that has several drill holes and counterbores and is relatively straightforward running it as a vector file and creating the toolpath. On the top side we have the outside diameter that needs to be cut away and quite a few 1" inch holes. The holes are where the 3D model is needed as the bottoms of these are contoured. If anyone can point me in the right direction I would appreciate the help.

It sounds like you need to study the tutorials on 2 sided machining
