Merge 2 models.

Post by auga »

I trying to learn to merge to models together and have not master this trick. I have 2 buttons which I want to
overlap. But if I use the add/merge they still are two models. So the are that intercepts/overlaps you can see
and disorts the button shape.

I want one to "win" and be a whole model. Thus the 2nd model what to have it merge or fade it so the this intercept part of it
is not seen.

Is this possible.

I think you need to "BAKE" the two models for them to become one.

There is a tutorial about it.

A nice precaution is to group them and make a duplicate, just in case you want to go back.

Once you bake them you cannot reverse the process after a save close and reopen. Before save close and reopen, you can still undo.

What also can be done is to " Make Model from Visible Components".
That way you'll still have all the separate items.

Just another suggestion.

Michael,

Is that an option in VCP 9?

John, It is not.
As V-Carve will not allow you to make any new components...baked or otherwise..
