Vcarve 9. spindle control

Post by gr8evo »

Hi, I have updated from 8.5 to 9.0 and have a problem that the g-code does not activate the spindle. I tested some old toolpath from 8.5 and its 100%. Thanks

You are most likely using a post processor that is different from the one that you used in V8.5.

Can you explain what you meant by post possessor?

When you design something in V9,, how do you save it and create the G-Code ???
You've done this already...correct ??
The Post Processor is what is used to make your G-Code...

When you go to the Save Toolpaths dialog on the right side of the screen, there is a dropdown menu that says "Post Processor". Presumably you picked one for v8.5 - it most likely had a name similar to your specific machine. When you pick this post processor, VCarve Pro opens a file that contains instructions for translating the toolpath information internal to VCarve Pro to G-code that your machine can run.

If you had a post-processor that worked in 8.5, the easiest way to correct your problem is to copy it to the correct folder for v9.0

If you click on the File menu, then Open Application Data Folder, it will open a File Explorer window. Go up one level to Aspire, then click on the V8.5 folder. Once there, click on the My_PostP folder. If you see a file with the name of your machine there, copy it and then paste it in the same location in the V9.0 folder. If you don't see it there, then go back to the v8.5 folder, click on the PostP folder and locate the file with the name of the post-processor you have been using from the list and copy it. Then go to the My_PostP folder (not the PostP folder) for v9.0, and paste it there. This will make sure it gets copied to any future versions automatically.

Once you have the post processor in the right place, close VCarve Pro and open it, and you should be able to select that post processor when you save a g-code file.

Thank you guys. That was it. When I installed v9.0 I did not select it.

For the best and most complete information, you should look over the training videos that pertain to generating and saving toolpaths.
