Adrian,

WaltS is correct there is no .crv file with the Bullshead for previous versions - just the Aspire V9.0 has the .crv file. And it cannot be opened in my V-Carve 8.5 version --- get the failed to open notice stating file was created in later version (beta 8.908).

Here's a slimmed down version so it could be uploaded but it's enough to see the issues I'm asking about.

*** Note: changed the color of the toolpath to be able to see the details of the toolpath wood carving.

As with WaltS I do not see any difference between the two (Standard vs Maximum) only a noticeable difference in rendering times.

Probably not a complicated toolpath to see much of a difference.

It darkened the toolpath color slightly and there is a slight quality difference between the two carvings.

Note: Both images Standard Left and Maximum Right (V-Carve V8.5 Windows 10)

Zoom in and there is big difference but with that combination of job size, toolpath etc there is very little difference to the eye at "fit to screen" view size. It's not really a problem with the software IMO.

There sure is a significant rendering time between the Standard and the Maximum Quality setting on the second image (more complicated v-carve) that I provided. though!!! Especially on one of my earlier slower computers.

Thanks, that's what I was wondering. I could see a difference zoomed in but not at Fit. Needed a good quality of the entire piece at Fit, will have to find a different way. I guess Photoshop is the next option. Thanks all for confirming.

Yes, but as I posted earlier in the thread the original question was nothing to do with rendering time and purely about visual quality so the speed isn't relevant in this instance.
