Cut thru signs?
Is there any way to make a cut thru sign using vcarve? For example a sign where the border and the lettering are all that is there? As if to cut out everything but the lettering and border. Basically just cut out the spaces between the lettering and the rest of the background?

Hi: I do believe you would have to have some way of securing the piece to the spoil board. Maybe a solvent glue to a plywood backer that can be screwed to the spoil board. then use a solvent to unglue the piece from the ply backer. Norm

Norman, Have you tried the method of putting masking tape on the spoil board and the work piece, and then superglue between them. It works really well for things like this.

Re: Cut thru signs?
The double sided tape method mentioned works OK for this sort of thing as has been said already, you obviously need a way of keeping the text in place so using a script as Randall has done is one method, if you were to use a non scripted font you would need to add small bridges between each letter to keep everything together or you could cut the letters, drill holes through them & then put them on a piece of dowelling

Re: Cut thru signs?
yes like that. can you give me steps on how you did these signs? I can use script lettering, but how do I set up it up to make it cut everything else away? I tried to download the project but you have a newer version and I can not open or read the file.

Hi;
I had not thought of super glue on masking tape. I'll have to remember that. I use super glue for lots of things, works good on Corian.

Examples for another style with a bar connecting the letters for non-script fonts.
