Defining a "Conical Bit"

Post by johnelle »

I just bought a Whiteside SC64 https://www.hartvilletool.com/product/9 ... outer-bits for engraving plastic signs (I hope).

Wondering how to add it to the tool list. Do I just pretend its a bullnose?

1/32" radius
1/16" diameter
7/8" cut length

Thanks.

When I ran this bit I ended up with some weird shoulders on the letters. Did I do this wrong?

Diameter should be the wide diameter at the top of the taper. 1/4" shank.

Tool diameter should be .25 as 4D pointed out.
Taper should be 7.5 not 5.5

All else looks good.

I agree with the tool diameter, but where do you get 7.5 for the taper? The spec sheet show 5.5. Where is my math error?
