Ok it’s been 9 months from my above postings but I’ve finally ran the Amazing Grace plaque where Michael T fixed the music for me.
So thank you again Michael and Daniel for the help with this one.

Been a long time coming but turned out nice and I’m going to deliver it in a day or two to the lady that I made it for.

I ran it out of hard maple and its 26” wide by 28” tall. Probably took about 4 to 5 hours to run it. I did put a glazing on it then sprayed it with minwax satin for the final finish. I carved the music and the song with a 1/16 vbit from précis&bits.com.

If anyone is interested in the files they were all included in one of the above postings.

Looks awesome Mark!
Can you give me more info on the Vbit? What do you mean by 1/16? What angle?

Thanks,
Dave

Thanks for the nice comments.

If you mic the vbit it measures 1/16" at the widest point of the v.
The pictures show the actual bits that I have with the specs.
I've been amazed that I haven't ever babied the bit and never had a problem with it.
The one bit looks like 09 but the sleeve is on upside down, it's really 60 deg like the other one.
The sleeve is there so you put it in the collect up to the sleeve.

Mark

The bits are like $14 each

Wow! this is an awesome thread... thanks so much for sharing guys and your examples are superb.
Too bad I didn't see this before Christmas. Would have made an awesome family gift.
But someday I hope to be as good as some of you... I still haven't ventured into 3D yet. Just a old newbie trying to learn.
This stuff is pretty much my retirement hobby. I even setup a TV so I can watch some shows while carving in my basement.
I have blood clots in my left leg, so I can't stand on my feet for prolong periods, so I have to be careful of carving time because I just have to stand there and watch the machine create... lol. Plus I prefer to see my tool working and manually vacuum the debris. Thanks again.

Very nice work Mark.
Can you tell me if you used a specific depth or flat depth?
