Somehow you have vectors that double back on themselves. I suspect this may have happened when mirroring. I went into node editing and clicked on each vector and cut (press C when hovering over the black end node) for each vector. I then deleted the duplicate vector and was able to join the whole. I don't know how you dunnit but cha' done it.
You may have to cut the vector twice on the black nodes where I think some vectors double back twice.

Don't know how you managed to generate this. The vectors are wrapped on top of each other. You need to select each line segment and "cut" the ends, then delete one of the duplicate vectors. Then select all the remaining and join.

thanks for the help.
this was not a file I made. I had downloaded a file to make a bee hive. but just could not get it to work
so I took a small part of it and tried that and had the same problem.
so I thought if I could correct and find the problem with the small part I could solve the problem with the full file.
but it seems like allot of work.
enclose is the full file.

Here're some cleaner vectors to try.
