Topografic map of michigan

I am looking for a topo file of Michigan and California for a project I am doing for a gift to a family member. I only have vcarve desktop and a limited time to do this I would like to know if I will be able to do this. I am new cnc user and have limited background so I do not have the time to learn how to create it but would love to learn after I get this project done anyone have any suggestions on ware I could get a file that is complete and ware I can learn how to do this on my own I am limited by only having vcarve desktop any help would be great thanks Don.

your best bet is to find someone in Michigan that can do it for you in the short amount of time you require.

Search for BigTopo on this forum.

Using Paul Rowntree program to generate a stl based on geographical coordinates is pretty straightforward.

Take the time to read the documentation which comes with the software and to perform the example it describes.
