could anyone convert this 2D star knob crv3d Aspire file to a crv file.
I only have Vcarve pro and would like to cut this star knob out.
Thanks,

I can convert it for you but all of the 3d data will be stripped from the file you will have to retool path in order to cut out in Vcarve Pro.
Let me know.

That will work, I just need the shape of the star knob. I can do the rest.
Thank you!

Re: convert a 2D crv3d file to crv file
FYI: You can download a trial copy of Aspire, and then load the .crv3d file into it and do a Save As to a .crv file.
You can't save a toolpath with the trial copy, but you can save as a .crv file.

The file that Adrian posted in the other thread contains both a star knob & a clamp that you can machine & is already in a CRV format so no conversion needed.
I have been making clamps very similar to Adrians for a couple of years now & they work very well
