Helical path broken into linear pieces

Post by Tailmaker »

When milling holes larger than the bit diameter, I prefer ramping the tool path in a smooth spiral, which gives more accurate results that a stepped-down method. I then export the g-code using the g-code-arcs post processor. So far so good but I noticed this does not export the movement as a helical arc which would require only one g-code line per vertical step depth but instead breaks it up in a zillion small linear movements (it does use the G02/G03 arcs method when going stepwise deeper).

Question: is there a post processor that can do helical arcs or is that just not possible in VcarvePro?
