In the current version of V-Carve you could choose a 1/2 sphere from the clipart tab.
Look in the Domes ( Dishes ) folder.
It would be listed as "Dome_Dish"
You can then use the rough and finish tool path to cut the sphere.

I don't see the 1/2 sphere in the Domes (Dishes) folder. Has it been removed? I'm running v9.015 with clipart. Thanks

I wonder if a moulding toolpath would be better to use the variable stepover rate (unless that option exists in v9 for 3D finishing paths) to prevent problems when the slope reaches the vertical?

Notice from the model (cut with 3D finishing toolpath) in the attached image that as the slope of the dome appoaches the vertical the constant stepover creates a large vertical wall. The gross stepover was used for texturing purposes but it would have been nice if there were a few more rings closer to the table.
