I've got quite a large bitmap file I'm trying to import into VCarve Desktop to trace, but I get this error:
I've exported the file from Affinity 2 and tried to import it in .png and .jpeg filetypes, which I understand are supported.
Is it a size thing? The files are 43Mb and 22Mb respectively.
Thanks

Re: Import File Limit size?
Seems extremely large for a bitmap to me. Even at 4k resolution I would be expecting around 4mb max.
What sort of spec is it resolution and colour depth wise?

Re: Import File Limit size?
It's A4 in size, but essentially a black and white scanned image. It was scanned at 1200dpi
I reduced the size and it will now import, and I can see why it was so big, but the thing that threw me was the 'wrong file type' message.
If the file's too big, why doesn't it just say that?
Thank you.

Re: Import File Limit size?
Try opening the file with an image editor to see if the problem is with the exported image being corrupted or something else.

Re: Import File Limit size?
First off I wouldn't use JPG—too much lossy artefacts.
Second an A4-sized image at 1200 "dpi" is 14032x9922 pixels in size. I'm not surprised VCarve choked.
I created a PNG image that size and got the same error. I resized it to half the dimensions (1/4 the area) and it imported just fine.
