How do I send toolpaths to cnc router?

Post by ianto36 »

Hi
I've got my cnc router installed now and I'm running mach3 pp.I've tried sending a simple letter to carve and a tutorial as I'm on trial version at the moment.
The output to machine direct is not active (greyed out).
Also the motors take an age to travel
Any help ,ideas will be greatfully appreciated
Thanks Ian

Hi Ian,

I haven't heard of the 'Challenge Spiral saw router' - can you post a link to a
web site that shows more information about this machine?

Thanks,

Tony

The cnc machine is a home built one I bought off ebay
Could you tell me how to change the feed rate on the XYZ axis or does vcarve control this in the toolpath.
I am totally new to this
Thanks
Ian

Hi Ian,

The tools are stored and selected from the Tool database and this is where
the XY surface and Z plunge feedrates are set.

If you open one of the Evaluation files such as the Bulls Head sign, open the
Toolpath Tab on the Right of the interface and Double click on the toolpath
name. You will see the options to Select or Edit the Tool information.

Click Edit and yo ucan change the feed rates.

I hope this helps,

Tony
