3d to V-carve

Post by Dash66 »

Good evening all!!!!

Ok..Before I start this cut, better get some advice. I have a panel door that I have a 3d design in the middle and on all four corners, I have another deco 3d cut. hen I import these into V-carve, will my starting points change to the middle of my project, where I actually want to start? If not, how do I change this?
Thanks for all your time!!

It should start where you have it set up in V carve pro. The 3d portion is only the toolpaths that where imported, and you just placed them in the workspace in V carve. If you want to make sure, just do an air cut for a period of time to see where it starts. Just make sure the bit is not touching the wood or whatever the material you are using.

In V-Carve - you set the zero point anywhere you want, I use middle top.

In the machine you need to pick up the same place as you set up in v-carve --- I use middle top.

The same holds true even if you have imported 3D toolpath from cut3D or Machinist and imported into V-Carve. V-Carve takes care of all of that for you.
