I need to cut open vectors on right and/or left side, not just on. Example; I want to machine the shape U, I can Vcarve it but can't seem to profile it because it is not closed. Am I missing something simple? I am trying to pick software for our sister company to use. The files we both will be cutting have these vectors along with closed ones. We do it now in AlphaCam. I can make VCarve work for me on stuff I draw but I have alot more prints then I wish to redraw into programmable file for them. HELP! I have a typical file if someone would like to look. Give me an email when you respond.
Thanks ahead of time

Download worked OK
I just downloaded it and opened it in VCarve. Opened with all vectors there.

I can open the file and it seems to all be there. My question is, What do you need to do with the file? Yes there are open vectors but that is simple to fix.
I assume the the holes are holes but I am unclear as to what to profile cut???
The decription of the file has the term dato in it, What is dato cut and what is profile cut?
I know that V Carve can do these operations with your file without any trouble but there are a few steps to do in this case becouse of how your file was drawn.
Let me know and I can do it up for you to show you.

Frank I just guessed at the actual cuts you may need.
If this is correct just offset the dado cut and profile cut on the line with the correct size bit.
If the dado is not of a normal size you can always add another span to get the required width.
The pilot holes were a drill cycle and the others was a profile thru inside the line with a small end mill.
