Profile cut problem

Post by Phil »

I want to do a 3D Bevel Edge letter. I followed the "How To" on the web site and it works fine. However I'd like a thinner profile for the letter. If I machine with a 90 degree V bit "On" the vector I will get the thinner profile but I can't select the "Sharp outside or sharp inside corners" option. I can only select the "Sharp corners" option when machining inside or outside the vector. Is it supposed to work this way? Machining inside the vector makes a profile that is way too thin.

Offset inward by the amount you need. If you don't know, you'll need to make some tests.

"Currently", VCP offset the original vector(s) outside with some trig. based on the V bit angle and depth of cut for the cut out tool path... maybe we'll get more option in the future...?

Does that help?

Sounds like a workable plan, I'll give a shot.

Thanks Paco.
