Hi All,
Here's a couple of vids showing a case mod I did using Cut2D - there's also a bunch of other projects on my channel:

Thanks mtylerfi,
I also did a cut out of the shape into the steel side on the back, which I was very nervous about so it went very slowly, but made it through in the end:

Love the video showing the cutting of the steel case. What were the specs of the bit you used? Also noticed you mentioning double-sided tape, yet it appeared the pieces were easily removed during the machining process. I'm guessing that's because the bit cut through the tape as well as the metal (and was intentional).

Hi mtylerfl
It was a 2mm 2 flute carbide end mill with a 4mm shank.
The double-sided tape I used has a fabric reinforcement in it and is quite heavy duty (bit like double-sided duct tape), so it sticks well on big sheets of stuff, but you can get the occasional shunt when the tool cuts through the steel and tape, if that part is not stuck for some reason. When doing a cut out I normally add 1-2mm to the cut depth to make sure it goes all the way through the material, as sometimes when you get the last 10ths of a mm, the tool can push the material down rather than cut through it and a I use a sacrificial bed underneath.
